We all know that brushing your teeth is important, but should we brush our teeth after having an acidic meal/drink? Here is a quick fact:
Acidic drinks/meals can weaken the enamel (hard outer surface layer of your teeth that serves to protect against tooth decay) of your teeth. Also, brushing immediately afterwards can cause tiny particles of the enamel to be brushed away. So, it is recommended that you don't brush your teeth until at least one hour after eating.1, 2
My Recommendation: If you know that you are going to have an acidic meal/drink, brush your teeth beforehand, Also, rinse your mouth with a glass of water afterwards to wash the acid away
